Final stop: World Cup semi-finals for Steinhauser

The super sprint took place on Saturday at the Triathlon World Championships in Hamburg in front of a record crowd. Also there: Verena Steinhauser from Brixen

In the three-stage elimination format of 300 m swimming, 7,5 km cycling and 1750 m running, she made it to the semi-finals. However, she got stuck at the next hurdle and in 13th place she missed the final of the best 10. Nevertheless, Steinhauser was once again the best Azzurra.

The titles were secured in a high-class, thrilling finish by Frenchwoman Cassandre Beaugrand and Hayden Wilde from New Zealand. There will be another mixed team competition on Sunday.
