Double gold for Lars Aaron Senoner

The Italian Junior Championship and a national race for the youth categories in canoe slalom took place in Vobarno under the best conditions. 8 athletes from SCMeran Alperia/Torggler fought in 6 uphill and 16 downhill gates for the titles in Canadian C1 and Kayak K1.

Marian Drescher took part in the U18 Italian Championship for the first time and took an excellent third place behind Fausto Veggi from Florence and Nicolo Peri from Bologna. "I am very satisfied with the end of the competition season. I am very happy that I was able to improve from fifth place in the qualification to third place in the final," Drescher summed up.

After being on course for a medal in the qualification, Annika Zoe Senoner only finished 7th due to a goal error in the final. "It's a shame that I made that mistake in the final. But in canoeing you sometimes have to take risks and that happens sometimes," admits Senoner. Alice Gravino finished 8th behind Senoner.

In the team competition, the Merano teams won bronze for the boys and silver for the girls.

At the national U16 race, two Merano athletes made a statement about their participation in the 2 Junior World Championships, winning gold in their respective categories: Sara Furlan in K2024 and Lars Aaron Senoner in K1 and C1.

"Eva Haller also did very well, coming 10th, Jakob Tribus 6th in the U16s and Jacopo Vicentini 7th in the U14s. The youngsters are already in the starting blocks, and in the team competitions they have also proven that they can keep up with the experienced players," says coach Stefan Senoner confidently.
