Last year, players from South Tyrol won 4 titles and so there was great expectation that they would also make their mark on this year's event. The predictions were difficult to make as new partners had joined forces in the doubles disciplines and it was difficult to identify the favorites.
After three intense days of competition, the sporting success was sobering from a South Tyrolean perspective. Ultimately, only one title could be won - the men's doubles with Luca Zhou, who does not live in South Tyrol but is a member of ASV Mals Tesser and competed in the Italian championship with Alessandro Gozzini from Chiari. Three finals involving South Tyrolean clubs were lost - so it was enough for a total of four silver medals.
