South Tyrolean badminton players show off in Catania

The South Tyrolean badminton delegation, represented by ASV Mals, shone in Catania at the 9th edition of the Trofeo CONI.

All group matches were won 3-0 (against Piedmont, Lazio and Molise) - including the semi-final match against Campania. Without losing a game or set, they reached the final against Lombardy. The young players of ASV Mals also won this match comfortably 3-0. The South Tyrolean winning team consisted of Anton Gurschler, Adrian Telfser, Franzi Hellrigl and Eva Maria Zangerle. The team was accompanied by Claudia Nista.

They returned from Sicily on Sunday overjoyed with the gold medal and it was a great sporting event for all of Italy's young athletes. In total, over 4.500 athletes took part in various sports disciplines. President Matarella and CONI President Malagó also did the honours.
