The new national champions in youth badminton

The venue for this year's Under/Juniors National Championship was Bolzano. After the Under Italian Championships 10 days ago were extremely successful for the young South Tyrolean athletes, the national champions were crowned last weekend.

All categories were played: the U9 and U11 categories were organized by the VSS and the U13 to U19 categories by the State Sports Association. A total of 27 state champions were determined - with ASV Mals proving to be the most successful club with 17 title holders. Five young athletes deserve special mention as three-time state champions (state champions in singles, doubles and mixed): Franzi Hellrigl, Anton Gurschler, Finn Unterberger and Lea Gitterle (all four from ASV Mals) and Ruben Fellin from SSV Bozen.
