The great shining moment of Tirol Mutspitz

Helmuth Alber set a new individual record with his 632 pins. In the end, the Tyroleans won their home match against Ridnauntal 6-2. Interestingly, both the women's and men's teams faced Ridnaun. For the Wipptal team, the past match day, with its two defeats, was one to forget, even though they couldn't do much against the Tyrolean Mutspitz players, who were in record-breaking form.

The match started well in favor of the visitors from the Ridnaun Valley. Both Thomas Haller and Christian Kasslatter secured the first two match points for the away team. Haller defeated Florian Thaler 594:569 (4:0 in sets), while Kasslatter beat Gerhard Höllrigl 581:508, also winning all four set points.

But Tirol Mutspitz recovered. And Hermann Fasolt delivered the first "600": He knocked down a total of 607 pins and beat Johannes Oberhofer 3-1 in sets, while Oberhofer from Ridnaun scored 579 pins. Michael Waldner then leveled the score at 2-2 with a 543-519 pin victory against Peter Haller (3-1 in sets).

Then it was Helmuth Alber's turn. And as already mentioned, he broke the individual lane record on his home lanes. He knocked down 632 pins, a feat his opponent Peter Volgger couldn't match, even with his team's best performance (595 pins). Christian Buchschwenter also won against Ridnaun player Andreas Gschwenter with 575:546 pins (2:2 in sets), bringing the score to 4:2 for the home team after the individual matches. In the overall result, Tirol Mutspitz then had a 24-pin lead (3434:3410 pins), resulting in a final score of 6:2. This also secured Tirol Mutspitz their first victory in what has been a difficult season so far.

Tyrolean women also shine. Two days before the men's bowling team from Tirol Mutspitz competed, the women set a double record on their home lanes in the clubhouse of Dorf Tirol: Led by up-and-coming talent Silvia Gaiser, who set a new women's individual lane record with 589 pins, the Tyrolean women knocked down a total of 2291 pins – a new women's team lane record. These outstanding performances resulted in a 5-1 victory against the women from Auswahl Ridnauntal.

Gaiser was also the first to step onto the lanes for Tirol Mutspitz. She didn't have an easy time against Ridnaun player Veronika Hochrainer at the beginning, narrowly losing the first two sets. However, a good third set and an outstanding fourth set (170 pins) ultimately secured her the victory with 589:526 pins, and she was also able to celebrate setting a new individual lane record.

Sara Waldner secured the hosts' second match point against Petra Haller. Both bowlers again won two sets, but Waldner prevailed with a score of 580 to 545 pins. Dora Rinner then added the third point against Gabriela Volgger, winning 574 to 523 pins and taking three sets in the process.

Jasmin Ladurner for Tirol Mutspitz and Edith Pfattner for Auswahl Ridnauntal were the last to take to the lanes. This time, the point went to Ridnaun, as Pfattner won with 564:548 pins (2:2 in sets). However, because Tirol Mutspitz had a total of 2291 pins, as mentioned earlier, while Auswahl Ridnauntal had 133 fewer (2158 pins), the last two match points went to the home team – securing a 5:1 victory. While Ridnauntal remains in a relegation spot, Tirol Mutspitz has made up considerable ground and now sits in seventh place.

The bowling alley in the clubhouse of Dorf Tirol was a place of records last match day. The ladies of Tirol Mutspitz started things off in the A-class, and last Friday the bowlers of Tirol Mutspitz in the A1-class followed suit with another record.
