Lana climbs to seventh place

League leader Fugger Sterzing beat Burggräfler 3253-3111 at home in a moderate game (8:0 cones). The demanding track did not allow for top results, Reinhard Gruber (Vipiteno) was the “best of the day” with 563 woods. The Wipptaler's worst adversary, namely KK Neumarkt, also won 8-0. The Unterlanders kept the upper hand at ASKC Passeier (3586:3398). Tamas Kiss (Neumarkt) once again provided the highlight of the interesting encounter. His yield: 659 wood. After the last ball played, the score was 7:1 between St. Georgen and Schnals. The “Jergina” won away (3421:3204), for Schnals it was the second home defeat within 72 hours after Stefan Weithaler & Co. had to forfeit the catch-up game against Sarnthein on Monday. The best thrower was Oswald Weger (St. Georgen), who scored 605 pins.

Speaking of Sarnthein: The Sarnen team also won the second match of the week, thanks to a 6:2 home win against the Ratschings selection (3324:3229). Hannes Kröss (Sarnthein) became the best bowler of the match, narrowly failing to reach the 595 bowler mark with 600 blades. Kurtatsch, on the other hand, put the Jenesien bowlers in their place 7:1 (3484:3345), with Arnold Peer completely convincing with 624 bowlers in the ranks of the Unterlandlers. Lana won his home game against Naturns 6:2 (3298:3188), in which the “host” Predrag Rapo swept 590 sticks off the track. Thanks to this home success, the Etschtaler climbed from ninth to seventh place in the rankings.

Women: Burggräfler extremely strong

The 13th matchday was also on the program for the bowlers last week. The highlight was Burggräfler, who brought Pfalzen to its knees 2219-554 with a great team performance (5 cones/1 cuts). 5:1 was the result of the week in the highest women's league, because Tirol Mutspitz (against Villnöß), Fugger Sterzing (against Vöran Blecherne), Plose (against Passeier) and Meran (against Deutschnofen) also prevailed with this result. Only Los Birillos fared even better, even celebrating a 6-0 win in the Isarco derby against Pfeffersberg.
