In the women's category, the first and second place, Illaria Maria Scolaris and Savina Nicelli, achieved a top result, meaning they reached the highest point of the route. Elena Brunetti came third. Bettina Dorfmann from AVS Brixen showed technical skills and strength. The 15-year-old made it to third place in the semi-finals and fourth in the final.
Her teammate Matilda Liu “Moar” was also convincing, she came 12th, Leni Klotzner from AVS Meran came in 16th, Veronika Cagol (AVS St. Pauls) came in 19th, Lena Trojer (AVS Meran) came in 21st and Miriam Amelie came in 25th Peer (AVS Meran).
Bettina Hofer impressed in the Italian Cup.
In the men's race, the top six places went to five athletes younger than 18. They are all part of the Italian youth national team. This gives hope for a promising future in climbing.
16-year-old Matteo Reusa won ahead of Riccardo Vicentini and Giovanni Placci, the only adult on the podium. From a South Tyrolean perspective, sixth place for Fritz Engele from AVS Meran was pleasing. The 16-year-old is the reigning regional champion in lead. In the men's category, alongside Fritz Engele, Samuel Perntaler (AVS Brixen) also made it to the semi-finals, finishing in 18th place.
