Filip Schenk misses Olympic qualification

Filip Schenk failed in the semifinals of the Olympic qualification for sport climbers in Budapest (Hungary).

In the semifinals of the best 20, Schenk finished 18th in bouldering on Saturday. Later in the lead, the Val Gardena native had to settle for 17th place. However, Schenk would have had to make it into the top 13 to jump on the train to Paris.

Nevertheless, Schenk has shown that he will be a force to be reckoned with in the future. The 24-year-old still has enough chances to fulfill his Olympic dream. "It was very close today. Of course I'm a little disappointed now," said Schenk.
