Lead Italian Cup: Filip Schenk climbs onto the podium

Last weekend, the final of the three-part Italian Cup series in the lead discipline took place at the Orobia climbing hall in Bergamo. Valuable points for the overall ranking were up for grabs one last time.

Filip Schenk secured third place in the competition and thus also finished an excellent third in the overall lead ranking. Leonie Hofer was the only South Tyrolean AVS athlete to qualify for the final. She finished eighth in the final ranking and ninth overall.

A total of 13 athletes from South Tyrol traveled to Bergamo, accompanied by Angelika Rainer and Hubert Schwarz. Their goal was to present themselves at their best at the final Italian Cup Lead. In addition to Schenk, Fabian Pardatscher also qualified for the semifinals in the men's event, achieving a solid 20th place.

In the women's competition, three other AVS athletes made it to the semifinals alongside Hofer: Vanessa Atz finished 20th, Elsa Giupponi was 22nd and Nadia Insam finished the competition in 23rd place.

Strong result for Matilda Liù Moar

Italy's FASI youth national team enjoyed an intense and successful weekend at the Bouldering European Cup in Sukoró, Hungary. AVS athlete Matilda Liù Moar of AVS Brixen had an outstanding day: She secured 7th place in the qualification and narrowly missed the podium in the final. She ultimately finished in a strong 4th place.
