Italian Championship: Filip Schenk wins bronze
The Italian lead climbing championship took place at Orobia Climbing in Curno near Bergamo. Seven athletes from South Tyrol, six from the AVS national squad and Filip Schenk, who competes for Fiamme Oro, took part.

The Italian lead climbing championships took place in Bergamo this weekend. The qualification took place on Saturday, where all athletes climbed two routes.
The semi-finals and the finals took place on Sunday. All routes were challenging with very modern holds. 5 of the South Tyroleans from the national squad qualified for the semi-finals. Also qualified was the reigning Italian champion Filip Schenk, who comes from Val Gardena and competes for the Fiamme Oro.

Filip Schenk made it to the final and finished third after climbing to the top in the semi-final and then unfortunately slipping in the final. Fritz Engele (AVS Meran), Leonie Hofer (AVS Passeier) and Bettina Dorfmann (AVS Brixen) showed their talent and placed among the best 15. Fritz Engele was still in 8th place after qualifying.The results
