Degenkolb wins the third stage and takes over the overall ranking – Quinziato 70.

The athlete from the German World Tour team Giant Alpecin beat Alejandro Valverde and José Lobato del Valle (both Movistar) on the 205-kilometer section between Dubai and Hatta Dam. Degenkolb has also taken the lead in the overall standings and relegated the previously leader Mark Cavendish to second place.

Manuel Quinziato from Bolzano, however, finished the third section in 70th place and was 5.47 minutes behind today's stage winner. The 35-year-old from the BMC team is now in 60th place in the overall ranking.

The Dubai Tour ends tomorrow with the fourth stage covering 123 kilometers from Dubai International Marine Club to Burj Khalifa.
