The Dolomiti Superbike takes place on July 13th.

Dolomiti Superbike: “Is ideal for beginners”

It all started with it almost 30 years ago and it is still a challenge for all bikers today: The classic distance of the Dolomiti Superbike is 60 kilometers long, has an altitude difference of 1570 meters and for many participants represents their first approach to the myth of the South Tyrolean classic. The 29th edition of the South Tyrol Dolomiti Superbike will take place on Saturday, July 13th.

You should not underestimate the “shortest” of the three routes offered on the South Tyrol Dolomiti Superbike. Comprehensive preparation in the form of sufficient training units before the competition is essential. Because every mountain biker knows that 60 kilometers and almost 1600 meters of altitude are no picnic - even if you are optimally looked after by the numerous volunteer helpers at the various refreshment stations along the way.

Bikers can look forward to tough climbs and rapid descents on their 60-kilometer adventure in the heart of the 3 Zinnen Dolomites region. They always have the majestic mountain world in view and absorb the partly untouched nature of the area with all their senses. After the start in Niederdorf, the bikers go on the classic distance over Egger Berg, Stadlern and Wahl to Toblach, from there on to Toblacher See and Schluderbach up to the Plätzwiesen, before the long descent past Brückele to the finish begins in Niederdorf.

Fontana and Urban the defending champions

Last year, the Olanger Klaus Fontana (2:21.07 hours) and the Pole Anna Urban (2:59.09) won the classic distance. They are therefore the defending champions at the South Tyrol Dolomiti Superbike 2024. The classic distance can also be tackled with an e-bike or a gravel bike - an option that is becoming increasingly popular and is very well received by endurance athletes .

Registrations for the 29th South Titrol Dolomiti Superbike on Saturday, July 13th are still possible on the official website www.dolomitisuperbike.com. The entry fee is currently 30 euros until June 110th. Every participating biker receives a starter package that includes a gift, high-quality products from the 3 Zinnen Dolomites region, information material, the starting number with the transponder for timing, and a voucher for the pasta party.

Take part in two races for a special price

The organizers of the South Tyrol Dolomiti Superbike around President Kurt Ploner are working closely with the organizers of the Val d'Orcia Gravel this year. A cooperation that also affects enrollment. Anyone who would like to take part in both the Dolomiti Superbike (July 13th) and the Val d'Orcia Gravel (October 20th) can do so for the special price of 100 euros. Anyone interested can transfer the entry fee to the Südtirol Dolomiti Superbike account (IBAN IT 29 M 08302 59100 000300029505) and state the route length in the justification (123-85-60 km for the Superbike, 140-117-73-39 for the Val d' Orcia Gravel). Mountain bikes, gravel bikes and e-bikes can take part. Registrations for both races are possible until May 31st.
