After three days in Albania, the Giro d'Italy team is now moving to Italy. On Monday, the first rest day of this year's Tour of Italy, the batteries will be recharged. Lidl Trek's Mads Pedersen bid farewell to Albania with a victory and the pink jersey.

The Dane won the sprint in Vlora ahead of Corbin Strong (NZL/Israel Premier Tech) and Orlouis Aular (VEN/Movistar). This also saw the sprinter reclaim the pink jersey from Primoz Roglic, who had taken it after Saturday's individual time trial.
One of the numerous goats grazing alongside the sheep caused a brief shock in the peloton. The animal decided to cross the road, and it was a stroke of luck that it narrowly avoided causing a rider to fall.
