Reiterer wins in Innsbruck with a course record

The Haflinger trail runner Andreas Reiterer took victory at the “Innsbruck Alpine Trailrun Festival” – with a new course record.

The athletes had to complete 67 kilometers and 2450 meters of altitude during the trail run in North Tyrol. In the end, Andreas Reiterer, a South Tyrolean, won. What's more: the Haflinger beat the previous course record by 15 minutes. Reiterer's winning time was 4.47,55:XNUMX hours.

Reiterer was in the lead from the start after the start in the Innsbruck old stand. However, there was also a brief moment of shock when Reiterer took a wrong turn at a junction. However, he quickly noticed the mistake and only lost around 2 minutes of time. Because Reiterer wanted to stay under 5 hours, he continued to set a high pace and left the competition well behind. “I am very satisfied with my performance. “Now I’m resting a bit before I go to the preparation camp for the European Championships in mid-May,” said Reiterer afterwards.
