FC Südtirol breaks the goal ban but remains winless

FCS coach Giovanni Stroppa had to do without the injured Gavazzi in the home game, but striker Gliozzi was available again. However, this was initially not taken into account in the 3-5-2 system.

The guests had their first chance to score in the encounter, but were denied by FCS goalkeeper Miori after a corner in the fifth minute. This was again given preference over Coser. Afterwards, FC Südtiroler quickly took the scepter into their hands and subsequently dictated the game. The strikers Tulli and Kirilov promptly fired the first warning shots before the ball found its way into the opponent's goal in the 24th minute. Giacomo Tulli scored with a powerful shot from the edge of the penalty area into the top corner. Immediately afterwards, a Fink shot went just over the Lombard goal. With the lead behind them, the home side let the reins slip a bit. Lumezzane now found his way into the game better, but rarely managed to get dangerously close to the penalty area.

In the final phase, emotions run high

After the break, FC Südtirol controlled the game again and had their opponents firmly under control for long stretches. It was only in the final phase that emotions ran high again: in the 75th minute, substitute Gliozzi ran alone towards goalkeeper Furlan, but fired his shot from around 15 meters wide of the goal. This negligence would later be bitterly punished.

At first, however, the FCS remained in control. Tulli and Bandini both failed because of Furlan, who was in a great mood. Shortly before, Tagliani had to clear on the line. After that, the game petered out again and everything seemed to point to a narrow home win for FC Südtirol - until Lumezzane attacker Manuel Sarao struck ice-cold in the 88th minute. After a penalty, the FCS defense couldn't get the ball out of the danger zone and so Sarao directed a teammate's shot unhindered into the net. Lumezzane took advantage of one of his few chances in the second half to steal a point from Bolzano.
