Atalanta is swimming at the top, Salernitana is sinking into the basement

While Atalanta remains in the Champions League ranks, things are looking bleak in Salerno. The Inzaghi squad is slowly losing contact with the non-relegation zone.

Salernitana has only celebrated one win this season, on November 25th against Lazio (2-1). After that, the Campanians only suffered more defeats. Coach Filippo Inzaghi's team suffered their most recent defeat on Monday evening in Bergamo, where Atalanta celebrated a 4-1 home win.

After central defender Pirola took the lead (10th), nothing worked for the guests after the break. Muriel and Pasalic turned the game around - in front of Atalanta icon Josip Ilicic - with a double strike before the Belgian De Ketelaere and Miranchuk made everything clear. With the win, Atalanta stays in touch with 4th place, where the sensational team Bologna currently stands.
