De Rossi had played 251 times under Spalletti's management. No other player had been used more often by the current Juventus coach in his career than the Roman. On Easter Monday, the two faced each other as coaches: Spalletti at Juventus, De Rossi on the Genoa side.
The verdict? Spalletti gave De Rossi a footballing lesson in the first half. After a good quarter of an hour, Juventus led 2-0 through goals from Bremer (4th minute) and Weston McKennie (17th minute) and were massively dominant. After the break, the visitors improved but squandered the chance to pull one back. Aaron Martin's penalty was saved by Michele Di Gregorio (75th minute).
Napoli takes second place from Milan
In Udine, Udinese and Como faced off, providing a prime example of what's currently wrong with Serie A. Of the 32 players used, only two (!) were Italian. While Como didn't have a single Italian on the pitch, Nicolò Zaniolo started for Udinese. Nicolò Bertola was substituted on four minutes before the end.Napoli celebrates with Matteo Politano (second from right), who scored the winning goal. © ANSA / CIRO FUSCO
In the evening's top match (which offered few scoring opportunities), Napoli prevailed 1-0 against Milan. This victory propelled the southern Italians into second place in the league table, overtaking Max Allegri's team. Matteo Politano scored the winning goal in the 79th minute, having been substituted on five minutes earlier.
