Juventus' former sporting director, Fabio Paratici, took over at Fiorentina at the beginning of the year. However, his winter transfers have so far failed to produce the desired effect. La Viola are still mired in the relegation battle. On Monday evening, they suffered a 0-3 defeat at Udinese Calcio, leaving Fiorentina level on points with Lecce and Cremonese, currently 17th and 18th in the table.
Coach Paolo Vanoli remains under intense scrutiny after his predecessor Stefano Pioli was dismissed in early November. However, the situation at Fiorentina has not improved under the former Conte assistant.

Most recently, they almost suffered an embarrassing defeat in the Conference League against Polish side Jagiellonia Bialystok. Behind the scenes, Paratici is reportedly already working on his preferred summer coaching candidate, Roberto De Zerbi. The Italian most recently managed Brighton and Olympique Marseille.
Bologna has recovered
After a solid start to the season, FC Bologna also briefly slipped into a crisis. But the reigning cup winners have since recovered. On Monday evening, the eighth-placed team secured a last-minute victory against Pisa, who, like Hellas Verona, are teetering on the brink of relegation to Serie B.Serie A: Monday's games
