Juve's emotional end to the season

A turbulent season for Italy's record champions and newly crowned cup champions Juventus came to an end on Saturday. In the home game against Monza, the Vecchia Signora not only secured third place in the table.

The game early on Saturday evening was all about Alex Sandro. The 33-year-old full-back from Brazil is the longest-serving Juve professional after substitute goalkeeper Carlo Pinsoglio. He will leave the club in the summer after seven years. But before that, Alex Sandro rose to become the big protagonist.

In the very last game of the season, his very last in the white and black jersey, he entered the hit list again. He pushed the ball over the line with his shoulder after a Fagioli cross in the 28th minute. Two minutes earlier, Federico Chiesa had given Turin the lead. In the end, Juventus won against Monza 2-0 and secured third place in the table. To date, the team of interim coach Paulo Montero, who will move back into the second tier in the future, shared third place with sensational team Bologna, which Genoa lost 0-2 on Friday.

Serie A Saturday concluded with Milan's evening game against Salernitana, which ended spectacularly 3-3. Sunday is now fully dedicated to the fight to stay in the league, in which Frosinone, Udinese and Empoli determine the last relegated team.
