Just a few days ago, FC Empoli officially announced that it would be holding its summer training camp in Natz. The Serie A club from Tuscany arrived in the Eisack Valley on Thursday. Empoli will train on the sports field in Natz until July 26, but will be based in Brixen.
Two friendly matches are also planned during the preparation camp: this Saturday (18 p.m.) there will be a duel in Kaltern with FC Ingolstadt, who are currently training in Latsch. Next Friday, at the end of the training camp in Natz, there will be another friendly match against Spezia Calcio. The Serie B club is also expected here on Thursday evening and will then train in St. Christina.
Empoli trains at the Natz facility.
Empoli's squad includes two former FC Südtirol players, Luca Belardinelli and Emmanuel Gyasi. Just on Wednesday, the club, which managed to avoid relegation at the last minute this year, presented Sebastiano Esposito as a new signing. The 22-year-old attacker was loaned from Inter after having played for Bari and Sampdoria in Serie B in recent years. Empoli has also secured a purchase option for "the eternal talent", who now finally wants to make it in the top division.
Special family constellation
Esposito's brother Salvatore, who is one year older, is currently under contract with Spezia and will therefore also be coming to South Tyrol on Thursday evening. Salvatore is at home in central midfield. The youngest of the three brothers, Francesco Pio, is still under contract with Inter. The 19-year-old attacker could also be loaned out. So we could hear a lot more from this football family.Edit Profile
