Barely-thin: Bologna wins friendly against brave Brixen

On Monday evening, the professionals from FC Bologna came to South Tyrol for a training camp. This Wednesday evening saw the first friendly match against SSV Brixen. The team from Emilia-Romagna won – albeit only just.

In Vals, FC Bologna, which has been holding its training camp in South Tyrol since Monday, played its first friendly match of the season. It was against SSV Brixen. The match ended with a victory for Bologna - but not a clear one. Brixen only lost 0:2 to the Serie A club.

Both of Bologna's goals came in the first half. First it was Naim Byar who scored the 1-0 (34th minute); Giovanni Fabbian made it 2-0 shortly before the half-time whistle (45th minute). All in all, Brixen coach Patrizio Morini can be more than happy with his team.

Until August 3 in South Tyrol

The Bologna players have a tough schedule to look forward to over the next two weeks. On Saturday they will face Serie C club Calidero Terme - also in Vals - and on Wednesday they will face Greek first division club Asteras Tripolis (in Brixen). The training camp in South Tyrol will then conclude on Sunday 3 August with the three-team tournament in the Drusus Stadium in Bozen. Their opponents there are FC Südtirol (who are currently preparing for the new season in Ratschings) and German Bundesliga club VfL Bochum.
