FCS ratings: Unimaginative midfield, toothless attack

Adamonis 6 No chance against Abildgaard's header, but alert to Begic's shot just before halftime and the Slovenian's deflected effort after the break. A slight hesitation on Cherubini's long-range effort. But all in all, his performance was satisfactory.

Joy 6 He made a crucial block against Brunori after Adamonis' save against Begic, preventing a 2-0 deficit before halftime. He played on the right side of defense and had a decent game, but not an outstanding one either. The Albanian wasn't entirely without fault this time either.

Pietrangeli 6 Indicative of FC Südtirol's form: The first chance for the Red and Whites came in the 47th minute with a header from the advancing center-back. The fact that the Roman was FCS's most dangerous player in Genoa for a long time says it all.

El Kaouakibi 5 He played on the left side of defense and showed weaknesses from the start, partly because he was clearly not fit. Palma simply left him standing on Sampdoria's first chance. Furthermore, his loss of possession led to the home side's huge opportunity just before halftime. He was substituted injured after 77 minutes – once again.

Molina 5 He dribbled past Giordano and Cherubini and eventually lost possession, leading to a free kick and Sampdoria's 1-0 lead. A costly mistake. He tried to redeem himself – without success.

Tait 5:XNUMX The captain, who two years ago was FCS's match-winner in Marassi against Sampdoria, stayed on the pitch until the end in Genoa, but this time he couldn't make an impact. The will was there, but it wasn't enough. He's not in form. Abildgaard outwitted him with the decisive header.

Zedadka 5 He returned promptly to the starting lineup after his red card suspension, but replaced the injured Casiraghi in the number eight position, meaning FCS played in a kind of hybrid version of 3-5-2 and 4-4-2, with the Franco-Algerian oscillating between the wing and the half-space. It didn't work.

Simone Davi 5,5 He engaged in a thrilling, evenly matched duel with the 22-year-old Slovenian Tjas Begic, which the Leifers native often led on the edge of what was allowed. He made a mistake, however, before Brunori's chance, when Begic dispossessed him. And after Odogwu's opportunity, he put the rebound well wide with his strong left foot. He simply has to make more of those chances.

Pecorino 5 He barely received any balls. When he did, he didn't know what to do with them. He was sidelined and lacked any real impact.

Merkai 5 Like Pecorino: the passes didn't reach him. He was no factor in FCS's game. Castori took the Albanian off in the final stages. His pass to Crnigoj remained their only good play.

FCS ratings: Unimaginative midfield, toothless attack

The fact that FC Südtirol is still not safe from relegation on the final matchday is an absolute first in Serie B. On Friday, FCS lost 0-1 to Sampdoria at the "Marassi" stadium – the Ligurian side secured their survival thanks to the victory. The Red and Whites put in a weak performance.
