a Serie B

Of all people, a South Tyrolean hits the FCS (twice) in the core

After two wins in a row, FC Südtirol suffered a painful defeat at Cremonese on Sunday. Simone Davi from Leifer scored his first Serie B goal. It was another South Tyrolean who ended up spoiling the game.

The FCS suffered a 1:3 defeat in the away match against Cremonese. After the defeat against fourth-placed Cremona, FC Südtirol slipped back into a relegation place. In the end, the defeat was acceptable - even if the home team only scored the lead again in the 75th minute.

The decisive factor on this afternoon was Manuel De Luca's double. The striker from Pfatten (near Leifers) scored the 2:1 and the 3:1 for Cremonese after coming on as a substitute. De Luca was also trained at FCS as a youth. The 26-year-old has been a striker in Serie B for several years now and in Cremona since last summer. De Luca now has four goals this season - three of which he scored against FCS. He had already scored in the first leg at the Drusus Stadium.

Simone Davi scored his first Serie B goal.

Simone Davi scored the equalizer for FC Südtirol. It was the Leiferer's first Serie B goal in 60 games. Davi returned to FCS in 2019 after his loan spell at Virtus Bozen and has now made 131 professional appearances for the White-Reds. On Sunday, the 25-year-old scored his second goal overall.

The highlights

counterattack goalAfter a counterattack, the FCS is disorganized. Vazquez wins the ball against Praszelik and then things move quickly. Vandeputte is released on the left and beats Adamonis from close range. The FCS goalkeeper does not get his hand on the ball quickly enough and looks a little clumsy.
Davi!Odogwu secures the ball on the wing and plays it into the middle. Casiraghi misses there, but Merkaj crosses to Davi, who hits the far corner with a left-footed shot.
De Luca!De Luca beats Veseli and goes into the penalty area. The cross comes from Johnsen and De Luca nods in at the second post to make it 2-2. Well done by Pfattner, but it was also very easy.
De Luca againJohnsen with a dream pass to De Luca, who initially delays the counterattack. After a change of sides, Barbieri passes to the South Tyrolean, who powerfully scores to make it 3-1.

Next Saturday, FC Südtirol will be playing an important home game against Sampdoria.
