The bottom team in Serie B is visiting Bolzano on Wednesday. Frosinone has collected 10 points in the first 7 games, fewer than any other team in the league (Cosenza also has 7 points, but due to penalty points). This is why the Lazio club parted ways with coach Vincenzo Vivarini a week ago, who was only signed from Catanzaro in the summer. Frosinone's new head coach is Leandro Greco, who is also well known in South Tyrol.
On the field, Frosinone has a hard time scoring goals. Only Filippo De Stefano has scored more than once - and the Fiorentina loanee is usually only used as a substitute for a few minutes. Frosinone's key players are defenders Riccardo Marchizza and Ilario Monterisi, as well as Francesco Gelli (midfield) and Ebrima Darboe (Gambia international).
play-off place threatened
The situation is also getting worse at FC Südtirol. The play-off zone is only one point away. On the other side, they are only two points away from eighth place, which would be enough to qualify for the play-offs. The pressure on the team is still high. They have lost four of their last five games. Fabian Tait and Giacomo Poluzzi are two key players and experienced players out. At least Jasmin Kurtic is back after a red card suspension.Leandro Greco (right) returns to Bolzano as Frosinone coach on Wednesday. © Bordoni/FCS
Andrea Cagnano, Alessandro Mallamo (he could perhaps be back on the bench) and Hamza El Kaouakibi are also missing. In addition, reserve goalkeeper Giacomo Drago had a terrible day in Catanzaro and will be under a lot of pressure against Frosinone.
