The FCS is fishing at Juventus

Daouda Peeters will play for FC Südtirol in the 2023/24 season. The 24-year-old, who has played four international matches for the Belgian U21 national team over the course of his career, is coming from record champions Juventus Turin on loan until June 30, 2024.

Born on January 26, 1999 in Kamsar (Guinea), Peeters is a central midfielder whose great strengths lie in physical play. He learned to play football in the youth sector of Lierse (Belgium) before moving to the renowned academy in Bruges. His strong performances with the traditional Belgian club, with whom he took part in the prestigious Uefa Youth League, aroused the interest of Sampdoria's scouts, who brought him to Genoa in the summer of 2020. After a season with their “Primavera”, his playing rights were acquired by Juventus Turin.

Under Sarri in Serie A While Peeters was only used for the U23, today's Next Gen, in the first season, he was able to celebrate his debut in Serie A in July 2020 - under the management of Maurizio Sarri. After another season with the Bianconeri reserve team, he moved to Standard Liège in Belgium's first division on loan in the summer of 2021. Shortly after returning to his home country, he was diagnosed with neuropathy, which forced him to take a break of several months. The subsequent rehabilitation took place under the supervision of Juventus' Next Gen.

At a young age, Peeters was consistently called up to the Belgian youth national teams, from the U16 to the U21. For the latter he played four competitive games between 2019 and 2020.

Emanuele Pecorino is also moving to FC Südtirol on loan from Juventus Turin. The 22-year-old attacker has signed a contract with the White Reds until the end of the season, i.e. until June 30, 2024. Born on July 15, 2001 in Catania, Pecorino was trained at the Academy Tronachia. The 1.92 meter tall center forward made his big breakthrough at his home club Catania when coach Walter Novellino gave him playing time in Serie C for the first time at the age of 18. This exploit aroused the interest of several Serie A clubs, as a result of which a move to the “Primavera” of Milan came about. Until the championship was forced to be canceled due to the Covid pandemic, Pecorino scored a strong nine goals (in 18 games) for the Milanese.

Injury slowed development Back in Catania, he scored his first goal as a professional footballer in the derby against Palermo (November 9, 2020). By the winter break he was able to celebrate four more goals before his playing rights were acquired by Juventus Turin. However, a groin infection and an arm injury prevented him from reaching his full potential.

Over the course of last year's season, the center forward got better and better and ended up with 26 appearances, six goals and two assists in Serie C. He was also reported by coach Massimiliano Allegri for Juventus' Europa League squad.

FC Südtirol has hired a new midfielder and a new striker. The white-reds agreed on a one-year loan deal for Daouda Peeters and Emanuele Pecorino with Italian record champions Juventus.
