On Wednesday evening, the match schedule for the second-highest Italian football league was drawn in La Spezia. This means that the 20 Serie B clubs can now plan their season.
For FC Südtirol, this means in concrete terms: On August 17, the home Drusus Stadium will be spruced up for the big season opener. Modena, a former first division team, is coming to Bolzano with an old acquaintance. The Canarini's coaching bench is occupied by the former FCS successful coach Pierpaolo Bisoli. He already met his old employer as an opponent in April, but back then in Modena. This is Bisoli's first return to his former place of work.
Home game double to start
Just one week after the Bisoli, the next treat awaits the South Tyrolean fans: on August 24, Serie A relegated team Salernitana will come to Bolzano. Just three days later, the FCS will play at promoted team Carrarese, before the next well-known opponent, Brescia, visits the Drusus Stadium on August 31.The second division calendar was presented in La Spezia.
After this fantastic opening programme, FC Südtirol will travel away twice in September (Reggiana and Sampdoria), then Palermo, another potential top team, will come to Italy's northernmost province. In October and November, there will be home games against first division relegated teams Frosinone and Sassuolo.
Here is the complete game plan to print out:
In total, Serie B will have four international breaks next season and a short break in the championship at the beginning of January. There will also be four weekly match days (27 August, 29 October, 26 December, 1 May) before the regular season ends on 9 May 2025. As in the previous season, the second half of the season was not adjusted to the first half, which means that FCS will be presented with its opponents in a new order.
