South Tyrolean keeper signs first professional contract

Michele Marano has fulfilled a real dream this week: the 20-year-old from Dorf Tirol signed his first professional contract.

Michele Marano has signed a two-year contract with Sassari Torres (Serie C). The young goalkeeper will not immediately become Manuel Fischnaller's teammate, but will initially move on loan to Sassari Latte Dolce in Serie D to gain more match practice there.

Marano was trained in the youth teams of FC Südtirol and Virtus Bozen. Last summer, the 1,91-metre-tall man moved to Sardinia for the first time, to Budoni, where he was a regular player in Serie D. Now Marano is staying on the island - in Sardinia's second-largest city (Sassari has around 120.000 inhabitants).
