The jubilation on the Lahn River on Sunday was immense. Obermais won the six-point game. against Calvi Noale with 1:0 Victory secured. Obermais has won its last four home games. Even after the first half of the season, the South Tyrolean club's management emphasized that most of their head-to-head matches in the spring would be played at home – and that this would be a significant advantage. And that's exactly how it turned out. Obermais now has 26 points. The relegation zone is nine points clear. They are seven points adrift of 12th place, which guarantees survival in Serie D. The relegation playoffs remain the most realistic scenario for Obermais.
The group as a great strength
With no Serie D matches this coming weekend, Toccoli has time to work with his team on the training pitch. "We can improve technically and tactically; that's always true for us," said Toccoli, also with an eye toward the league matches. Many opponents are superior to FCO in this respect. But Toccoli also says: "Our strength is the team. Everyone is pulling in the same direction because everyone knows how tough this league is for us."Obermais coach Flavio Toccoli with his staff after the winning game against Calvi Noale.
“We’re starting with eleven players, but everyone in the team is equally important. Everyone works very hard during the week. I really have to compliment the lads,” Toccoli continued.Obermais' next match is away in about two weeks. Ghiotti and his teammates will face Legnago, the only opponent who truly dismantled the South Tyrolean side in the autumn (1-5). What will be crucial in the coming weeks? "We mustn't lose our will to suffer, to fight for every single point to bring home."
