The FCS women around goalkeeper Sonja Graus (r.) were able to move closer to Meran.

At the start of the second half of the season: FCS takes advantage of Merano's slip-ups

The second half of the season has begun in the women's Serie C. At the start, league leaders Meran had to be content with a draw, while FC Südtirol was able to get all 3 points.

After a turbulent winter - including a change of coach - the AS Meran footballers have started the second half of the season. However, the Kurstadt team had to accept a setback at the start, as there was “only” a 2-2 draw against latecomers Vicenza. Stefanie Reiner gave Meran the lead twice, but Vicenza was able to equalize each time. Bitter: The goal to make the final score 2-2 came in the 92nd minute. It is the fourth point loss for Meran, which remains undefeated at the top of the Serie C table.

The first pursuer is FC Südtirol. Coach Marco Castellaneta's team won the home game against Padova 1-0. Alexandra Stockner scored a strange goal because she blocked the opposing goalkeeper's shot into the net. The FCS victory was not discussed for a long time; goalkeeper Sonja Graus only had to intervene a few times in the final phase.
