First Juventus goal: Eva Schatzer’s big day

South Tyrol's female footballers are currently unstoppable in the women's Serie A. After Nadine Nischler, Eva Schatzer is now also causing a stir.

Eva Schatzer is considered a jewel in Italian women's football. The 19-year-old from Vahrn moved from SSV Brixen to Juventus four years ago, where she now plays in the Serie A team. And on Saturday Schatzer fulfilled a dream: she scored her first goal for the famous Turin club.

Ten minutes had been played in the match against Lazio when teammate Lindsey Thomas pushed through on the right and played into the middle, where midfielder Schatzer came rushing in and scored with a wonderful drop kick to make it 1-0. The Vahrner player thus laid the foundation for victory, as Juventus ultimately won 2-1.

Schatzer has thus written another successful chapter in her still young career. She scored her first Serie A goal last season: At the time, she was on loan from Juventus to Sampdoria, and Schatzer scored a total of two goals for the traditional club from Genoa. The fact that the young woman from the Eisacktal is a great talent is also shown by the fact that she has already been called up for the Italian women's national team. Her debut is only a matter of time.

In addition to Schatzer, another South Tyrolean, Nadine Nischler, has caused a sensation in recent weeks. The Naturns native has already scored twice for Como in her first Serie A season (click here for the detailed interview). This is how things can continue for the local ladies!
