Simone Iacoponi leads FC Südtirol to victory

In order to repair the damage from San Marino, FCS coach Stefano Vecchi made two changes to the starting line-up. Bassoli and Cappelletti formed the core of the defense. Maritato was used in the attack right from the start, who was supposed to score goals together with Thiam. Instead, Campo, who was slightly injured, initially stayed on the substitutes' bench.

It was also FC Südtirol that took control of the game from the start and put pressure on Cuneo, who had not won for five rounds. However, that changed in the second half when the FCS inexplicably let the reins slide. Cuneo's cautious attacks were promptly rewarded. Former Fiorentina player Enrico Fantini slipped the ball over the line in the 61st minute. Vecchi reacted immediately and substituted Alessandro Campo for Fink. He was also the center of attention when he got the ball at his feet after Martin hit the crossbar and narrowly missed the goal. Iacoponi did better again, who was there in the 72nd minute and gave FC Südtirol a goal with a header brought back into the lead. The defensive player had a very strong performance, and not just because of his two goals. In the final phase Iacoponi was needed again in defense as Cuneo was now pushing for another equalizer. However, goalkeeper Marcone and those in front of him withstood the pressure and delivered the results over time. The third home win in the Drusus Stadium was thus secured.
