Revolution in the 2nd amateur league: This is what the clubs are facing

South Tyrol's amateur footballers are currently enjoying the last days of free training, and summer preparation begins for most teams at the end of July. Also for many clubs from the 2nd amateur league: This year will be the last time they will take part in the championships in the usual format.

Three districts with 12 teams each: This has been the basic formula in the 2nd amateur league for years. From the 2024/25 season onwards, this will change fundamentally, as there will only be two groups. We spoke to association president Klaus Schuster about the reform, its reasons and its drastic consequences for the coming football year.
