The duel between Stegen and Partschins was actually supposed to take place on November 24th last year. However, it was cancelled due to weather conditions. The game was finally rescheduled for Saturday - with a better outcome for Partschins. The Lower Vinschgau team won 4-0.
Although the roles were clearly assigned before the match, it was still unclear how the two teams would perform - after all, they have not played an official match since the beginning of December. A lot has changed, especially at Stegen, where there was a change of coach (Peter Untergelsbacher took over the reins) and some new signings (Moussa Souare and Moussafa Diop) to report during the winter break.
Partschins too strong
After the game, however, one thing is clear: It will be a herculean task for Stegen, who are bottom of the table, to stay in the league. Partschins, which had the fourth strongest attack before the game (with the four goals on Saturday, Partschins is now the team with the second most goals with 27 goals behind Obermais with 29 goals), started like a house on fire and took the Pusterer team by surprise from the start.Daniel Lanthaler was also able to add his name to the list of goalscorers.
One of the match winners for the guests was youngster Tizian Stecher: the 17-year-old put his Partschins team on the road to victory with a brace in the first half. The game continued after the break, with Olaf Stark and Daniel Lanthaler also getting on the scoresheet before the final whistle.
second half of the season starts next Saturday
With the win, Partschins secured second place in the table and is now four points behind the league leader Obermais (32 points) with 36 points. The second half of the Oberliga season starts next weekend. While Partschins and St. Pauls will face off on Saturday, February 1st, the remaining teams will not be in action until Sunday, February 2nd.Oberliga, catch-up game from matchday 14
