Virtus wins the Bozen derby – St. Georgen dominates

This weekend, several top matches took place in the Oberliga. In Bozen, the two Talferstadt teams Virtus and Bozner FC met, while the game between Tramin and Obermais was also exciting.

Who is the best amateur football team in Bolzano? This question was given a new chapter on Sunday. The prestigious derby between Virtus and Bozner FC took place on the second match day of the Oberliga, with the relegated team coming out on top this time. The favorites beat their orange and black city rivals 3-0 and thus won the first Bolzano derby. This also means that things are slowly starting to get tough at Bozner FC, as they still have 0 points on the table after two league games.

Meanwhile, the top league heavyweight St. Georgen shot itself to the top of the rankings with a brilliant performance. The Jergina celebrated an outstanding 5-0 victory against Anaune and thus picked up another three points after the 1-0 win against Benacense. In addition to the all-out offense, the defense is also impressive, not conceding a goal in the second league game either.

Obermais also confident

Obermais is hot on the heels of Jergina. Burggräfler beat their strong opponents from Tramin 2-0 and, like St. Georgen, won their first two league games with a total of six points. The goals for Obermais were scored by Andreas Nicholetti and Hannes Luther.

Brixen also managed to score at the second attempt. Last year's outstanding regional league champions secured their first win of the new Oberliga season on Sunday with a solid 2-0 away win against Mori. The three points were given to them by Manuel Wachtler in the 27th minute with a spectacular long-range shot and by Michael Cia in the 66th minute.
