Next first division club arrives in South Tyrol

In addition to FC Bologna, another first division team is training in western South Tyrol from today: VfL Bochum. The Bundesliga players moved into their quarters this afternoon.

On Sunday morning, the traditional club from the Ruhr region left Bochum to travel by plane to Innsbruck and then by bus to Gais. The first training session was scheduled to begin there at 16 p.m.

In the Pustertal Valley, VfL, which spectacularly secured its place in the Bundesliga in the relegation match against Düsseldorf last season, will make its preparations for the next season in the German top flight until August 4th.

Two test match dates

The Ruhrpott players, including captain Anthony Losilla and the two most recent new signings Ibrahima Sissoko and Dani de Wit, also have two test matches scheduled in South Tyrol: on Tuesday they will face Serie B club Spezia, which is currently training in Val Gardena, in Brixen. On Saturday they will face the prestigious three-way tournament with Bologna and FC Südtirol in the Drusus Stadium in Bolzano.

Bologna is the second well-known club to train in this country these days. The Champions League participant is holding its preparation camp in Vals. Previously, two other first division teams, Heidenheim and Empoli, had held their training camp in South Tyrol.
