Already for the Club World Cup: Real signs Alexander-Arnold

Trent Alexander-Arnold is moving to Real Madrid and will play for the Royals at the Club World Cup.

As the Spanish record champions announced, the 26-year-old English international has been given a contract until the end of June 2031. Because the contract of the former Liverpool player is already valid from this Sunday, the right-back will also be able to play for Real at the FIFA Club World Cup, which begins in just over two weeks.

Liverpool FC, where Alexander-Arnold had a contract until the end of June of this year, will receive a transfer fee for the player, as the English champions announced. According to media reports, this fee is believed to be in the region of ten million euros. Alexander-Arnold made 354 competitive appearances for the Reds, scoring 23 goals.

Alexander-Arnold had already bid farewell to his beloved club at the beginning of May after 20 years of service. "This is without question the hardest decision I have ever made in my life," he wrote to X. He won a total of eight titles with Liverpool.
