Over 100 million! Tonali becomes a record transfer

Three years ago, Sandro Tonali moved from AC Milan to Newcastle United. Now the Italian is moving again within England. The transfer fee represents a new record.

Tonali joins Tottenham Hotspur for a total of €115 million (€108 million + €7 million in bonuses). The London club, who battled relegation from the Premier League until the final matchday this season, are looking to rebuild their team. Italian manager Roberto De Zerbi was keen to sign his compatriot to orchestrate the midfield. Both players come from Brescia. Manchester City had also been interested in Tonali. The 26-year-old, who is expected to sign a six-year contract, will have to manage without European competition at Tottenham.

The most expensive Italian player to date was Mateo Retegui, who transferred from Atalanta to Saudi Arabia last year for €65 million. Tonali is expected to be just the beginning of Tottenham's rebuilding process. The young Portuguese player Mateus Fernandes, from relegated West Ham United, is also set to join the north London club for €95 million. Additionally, Dutch World Cup defender Jan-Paul van Hecke moved to Spurs for €60 million.

Luka Vuskovic, on the other hand, is transferring from Tottenham Hotspur to league rivals Brighton & Hove Albion. His medical will take place in the USA, where Vuskovic will be playing for Croatia against Portugal in the round of 32 on Friday night. The transfer fee for the 19-year-old central defender, who impressed at Hamburger SV last year, is reported to be almost €60 million.

Juve signs a young striker

Juventus, on the other hand, have signed striker Jeff Ekhator from Genoa. The 19-year-old Italian international cost just under €18 million. Ekhator made his Serie A debut in 2024 at the age of 17 and has since played 54 games, scoring four goals and providing one assist. The 1,88-meter-tall forward impresses with his athleticism, physical strength, and versatility in attack.
