FC Bayern advanced to the quarter-finals of the Champions League on Wednesday. The German record champions celebrated a 2-0 victory in the second leg of the round of 1 against Paris Saint-Germain in front of their home crowd, thus achieving promotion with an aggregate score of 0-3 thanks to the 0-61 win in the first duel in the French capital. Nine minutes later, the Cameroonian was finally able to celebrate against his former club. Bayern pressed early, Marco Verratti lost the ball in his own penalty area and Leon Goretzka passed to Choupo-Moting, who only had to push it in. After conceding the goal, PSG initially did more to attack, but Sommer was on the spot to save a header from Sergio Ramos (64th) and a shot from Kylian Mbappe (67th), who, like Messi, was largely disappointing.

As a result, the Munich team had the game under control and were never in danger of losing promotion - quite the opposite. Substitute Gnabry made the decision in the 89th minute from a counterattack. This means that Bayern's dream of their first Champions League triumph since 2020 is still alive. Paris Saint-Germain, on the other hand, must continue to wait for Europe's most coveted club trophy despite the millions in donations from Qatar.
