There it is: Bayern's first defeat of the season

FC Bayern Munich have played 18 competitive matches this year, securing an impressive 17 wins and only one draw. Now, the Munich side have suffered their first defeat – in the Champions League.

Bayern Munich lost 3-1 away to Arsenal on Wednesday evening. The visitors' goal was scored by none other than 17-year-old Lennart Karl. However, the Premier League leaders were simply too strong on this night and ultimately celebrated a home victory, as Arteta's team showed far more attacking intent than Harry Kane and his teammates. Arsenal remain the only team in the table with a perfect record after five matches.

What else happened? Liverpool suffered another debacle. The English champions lost 1-4 at home to PSV Eindhoven. Liverpool's Dutch manager, Arne Slot, is now definitely on the ropes. Real Madrid, on the other hand, won 4-3 away at Olympiacos Piraeus thanks to a four-goal haul from Kylian Mbappé. The Frenchman has now scored nine goals in the Champions League this season.

Reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain defeated Tottenham Hotspur 5-3 in a spectacular match. Inter Milan, however, suffered a last-minute defeat at Atletico Madrid. Defender Jose Maria Gimenez headed home the winning goal in stoppage time to give the Spaniards a 2-1 victory. It was Inter's first defeat in this Champions League campaign. Meanwhile, Atalanta, under new coach Raffaele Palladino, impressed with a 3-0 triumph at Eintracht Frankfurt.
