Nobody could have expected this: football dwarf Georgia has reached the round of 2 in its very first European Championship participation. Thanks to the surprising 0-2 victory over Portugal, the team led by Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia moved into the knockout round. The Portuguese, led by exceptional talent Cristiano Ronaldo, had already been confirmed as winners of Group F before the last game. Turkey is second after the 1-XNUMX win against the eliminated Czechs, and Georgia is third.
The Portuguese, who had already qualified beforehand, delivered a poor performance against the underdog with their B team. Napoli star Kvaratskhelia (2nd minute) and Georges Mikautadze (57th minute/penalty) scored the goals for Georgia. The Portuguese will now face Slovenia in the round of XNUMX. Georgia will play against Spain.
Türkiye now faces Austria
The Turks took the lead through Inter superstar Hakan Calhanoglu (51'). Tomás Soucek (66') equalized for the Czechs, where Antonin Barak had already been shown a yellow-red card in the 20th minute for repeated fouls. Cenk Tosun (90'+4') secured the late winner. Turkey will now face Austria in the round of XNUMX. Hungary and Croatia, on the other hand, were eliminated as the two worst third-placed teams in the tournament.Group F, last matchday
