Whether with his head, from the penalty spot or in the classic striker style with a shot - on Sunday Lukas Hofer scored from every conceivable position. In the end, the Gargazonian netted four times, which on the one hand gave Hofer three points to SV Lana, but on the other hand might have given his guards one or two unpleasant dreams for the future. It is not surprising that Hofer himself was ultimately a little surprised by his four goals. After all, the exceptional striker celebrated a premiere: During his time in the Lanan team, he never managed a four-pack - even though the attacker had already scored an incredible 72 goals after two and a half seasons and 62 games. Everything has been there so far, from the decisive promotion goal to the important double pack to the flawless hat trick - now Hofer has also earned the famous name of the four-time goalscorer.

Most important goal against Bruneck Even after thinking about it for a while, the graphic designer couldn't find an answer to the question of which goal was his most beautiful so far - but that's understandable given so many goals. He knows in a matter of seconds which is the most important thing in his 62-piece collection. “Certainly the one against Bruneck two years ago.” In the deciding game of the 1st amateur league, Lana laid the foundation for promotion to the regional league with a 1-0 win - Hofer was able to score the decisive goal with his head. “It's actually strange, since it was my first header goal that season,” smiles Hofer, who scored all of his 27 championship goals with his feet and, thanks to this outstanding rate, became South Tyrol's best goalscorer.

Role model Robert Lewandowski Today, Hofer has also made some improvements in the area of heading accuracy: five goals last season and five this season speak for themselves. “I prefer to hit with my feet,” smiles Hofer. Actually, like Robert Lewandoski, whose playing style “most closely resembles mine,” explains the attacker. “He is not the classic penalty area striker, but also works a lot for the team. I also like his strong approach to goal.” Speaking of the move to the goal: Hofer had already acquired a great killer instinct at a young age. This didn't go unnoticed by the big clubs in the country: at the age of 16, Hofer moved to FC Südtirol, where he hunted for goals in the A-Youth National and the Beretti for two years and not only developed thanks to his coaches Alfredo Sebastiani and Maurizio Improta in terms of football, but also took a big step forward in terms of attitude. As a reward, he was even allowed to train with the professionals - and although a career in professional football would have been quite attractive, Hofer's professional career had higher priority, which is why he completed his last year of high school in Trent and returned to his home club Lana. The lanky and nimble attacker has now found his place in the domestic amateur leagues to score goals. Finally, Hofer revealed his recipe for success in front of the opposing goal: “Just don’t think too much – then it’ll work best” – words from a real goalscorer.
