There was a lot going on in the international transfer market at the beginning of this week. One big name is moving to a newly promoted Serie A team.

Raphaël Varane became world champion with France and Champions League winner with Real. At 31, the central defender is now moving from Manchester United to Serie A club Como 1907 on a free transfer. Coach Cesc Fabregas is putting together a strong team there. Alberto Moreno (ex-Liverpool), Andrea Belotti and goalkeeper icon Pepe Reina have already joined. Varane has agreed a two-year contract with Como.
Ivan Rakitic returns to Europe after only half a year in Saudi Arabia. The former Croatian international is moving back home to Hajduk Split for the first time. The 36-year-old signed a one-year contract with an option for a further season, as the nine-time Croatian champions announced. The Danish international Thomas Delaney At the age of 32, he returns home to FC Copenhagen.

The Belgian international Amadou Onana has moved from Everton to Aston Villa in the Premier League. The 22-year-old midfielder will play in the Champions League next season with the fourth-placed club under coach Unai Emery. De Zerbi is renovating
The Italian Roberto De Zerbi took over Olympique Marseille in the summer.
