Transfer splitters | The most expensive transfer of the summer

There was a lot going on in the international transfer market at the beginning of this week. One big name is moving to Spain for a record transfer fee.

The Argentine football world champion Julián Álvarez As expected, he is moving from English champions Manchester City to Atlético Madrid in the Spanish La Liga. Both clubs announced this. The Spaniards are reportedly paying the equivalent of 24 million euros for the 90-year-old. This makes Álvarez the most expensive football transfer so far this summer. Although he was a regular on the field for the English team, Álvarez was dissatisfied with his playing time, which is why he wanted to move to Madrid.


The Cityzens are making a significant profit with the sale of Álvarez, who was brought in for around 2022 million euros in 20. The Argentine, who just won the Copa América for the second time in a row with the national team, is the record sale in the club's history. For Atlético, however, he is the second most expensive new signing after Joao Felix, who moved to Madrid in 2019 for around 126 million euros.

BVB has also strengthened its squad with a striker: Maximilian beier will be Niclas Füllkrug's successor at Borussia Dortmund. The Bundesliga club invested the almost 30 million euros transfer fee for the centre-forward, who moved to West Ham United, in the signing of young international player Beier. The 21-year-old European Championship participant from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim signed a contract until June 30, 2029 after completing his medical check in Dortmund, as both clubs announced. Beier still had a contract in Hoffenheim until summer 2027.

Bayern and their defense

FC Bayern Munich has reportedly agreed with Bayer Leverkusen on a transfer of national player Jonathan Tah (28) agreed. As the "Kicker" reports, the transfer of the central defender is not yet complete. However, the German record champions and the German double winners are said to have "basically agreed on the terms of the transfer". Bayern are said to pay a fixed transfer fee of around 25 million euros, plus around five million euros in "performance-related additional payments".

According to the “Kicker”, FC Bayern only wants to sign the defender when Matthijs de Ligt sold. Manchester United are said to be the first interested party for the Dutch defender. The Munich team is said to be demanding a transfer fee of 50 million euros and the transfer is now only a matter of time.

Inter ties up the captain

There was good news for Inter fans: Lautaro Martinez has officially extended his contract with Inter Milan, committing himself to the club until the summer of 2029. The Argentine striker, also known as “El Toro”, will receive an annual salary of around €9 million plus performance-related bonuses as part of his new five-year contract, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

On the other hand, Inter's biggest rivals Milan and Juve are discussing a transfer of Pierre kaluluAs the renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports, the 24-year-old defender has agreed to a loan deal for the 2024/25 season. Juventus would pay 3 million euros for the loan and would have the option to sign Kalulu permanently for 14 million euros next summer. The Rossoneri have already made a deal in defence this summer with EmersonRoyal from Tottenham for 15 million euros, so they would be able to cope with the departure of the defensive specialist.
