Is Golf Master Italian Champion for the first time: Franz Pföstl from GC Eppan Carezza.

Franz Pföstl wins the title

In the end it was a very close decision: Franz Pföstl from the Eppan Carezza Golf Club was crowned Italian golf champion in the master class for the first time on the demanding, rather old course of the Barlassina Country Club (built in 1959) south of Lake Como - for the first time his career.

Pföstl (53) prevailed on the par 72 course with 76 and 73 strokes and a total of 149 strokes, 2 strokes ahead of Filippo Clerici (Monticello), third was Marco Bellini from Padua (also plus 2).

Remarkable: After the first day, Pföstl was only in 1th place with 76 strokes. The reason was heavy rain, with Pföstl landing his balls in the bunker several times, but decisively kept the deficit within limits with 8 birdies.

The 2nd day of the tournament had to be canceled due to rain, on the 3rd and final day, Pföstl showed a top performance and was the only player to stay just one over par with 73 strokes and won his first Masters title, having previously been an amateur twice - became Italian champion.

Moreno Trisorio (GC Eppan Carezza) was the second South Tyrolean to take part in the title fights. He was still lying in wait after day 1 with 77 strokes, but had a second day to forget and was pushed back to 2th place with 90 strokes (total score 167).
