Forst Sporthilfe Golf Charity 2024 visits Petersberg Golf Club

Over 130 golfers answered the call and gave their best at this year's Forst Sporthilfe Golf Charity for young South Tyrolean athletes. Among them were current and former sports greats such as Andreas Wenzel, Much Mair, Peter Runggaldier and Karoline Pichler. The cannon start took place at 10.30 a.m. and in the early afternoon the young athletes also picked up their golf clubs.

The Forst Sporthilfe Golf Charity has made a name for itself in recent years and is a meeting place for personalities from the worlds of sport, business and politics. As in the previous year, the Petersberg Golf Club was the venue for this charity event.

"South Tyrolean Sports Aid strives to organize a great tournament year after year and thereby draw attention to its sponsorship activities. At this point I would like to highlight the excellent cooperation with the Forst specialty beer brewery (long-standing premium partner and main sponsor) and the Petersberg Golf Club, who have supported us significantly in the implementation of this event. Not to forget the flight sponsors, who contributed to the renewed success of the event through their participation," said a delighted Sports Aid President Giovanni Podini.

Former ski aces Andreas Wenzel, Much Mair, Peter Runggaldier and Giustina Demetz, ex-cross-country skiers Alfred Runggaldier and Pepi Ploner, and former ice hockey players Norbert Gasser, Stefan Zisser and Guido Paur were there, as were Markus Ortler (President of FISI South Tyrol) and the former President of the German Golf Association Joachim Nothelfer. Their presence ensured a good atmosphere and they all enjoyed themselves on the 18-hole course.

In the early afternoon, other prominent athletes arrived at the Petersberg Golf Club and received a two-hour introduction from golf pro Ben Mannix. The young talents Yasmine Hamza (badminton), Petra Nardelli (athletics), Daniel Gruber (natural track luge) and Fabian Lantschner (snowboard) followed the golf pro's instructions and tried to put theory into practice. The main focus was on having fun. With the former Petersberg ski racer Karoline Pichler, a well-known face from the South Tyrolean sports world joined the young talents.

After all participants had completed their round of golf, the FORST aperitif, prize giving and a communal dinner took place. On this occasion, all athletes were introduced and the sponsors and patrons were thanked for their great support.
