Golf charity for the benefit of young South Tyrolean talent

Around 130 participants gave their best on the golf course, including up-and-coming young talents from South Tyrol. The social interaction and exchange between the participants was also not neglected. “The 8th edition of the FORST Sporthilfe Golf Charity was already fully booked at the beginning of the week and shows us that we are still on the right track. “Markus Prock, an additional prominent VIP golfer, was there this year, which made us extremely happy,” said Sporthilfe Managing Director Georg Gasser. The president of the Sporthilfe, Giovanni Podini, also had words of praise: “On behalf of the South Tyrolean Sporthilfe, I would like to thank the Forst specialty beer brewery as co-organizer and loyal annual partner, as well as the Petersberg Golf Club for the great cooperation. A special thank you also goes to the flight sponsors, who help the young South Tyrolean talents with their contribution.” The former top athletes Markus Prock (lugeing), Peter Runggaldier, Giustina Demetz, Andreas Wenzel (alpine skiing) Alfred Runggaldier and Pepi Ploner (cross-country skiing), Laura Garrone (tennis) Norbert Gasser and Stefan Zisser (ice hockey) and Markus Ortler (President FISI South Tyrol ) didn't miss the opportunity to take part in the various sponsor flights. Some participants took the opportunity to have a short conversation with the sports greats. The young athletes arrived at the golf club in the early afternoon and received a 2-hour introduction from golf pro Ben Mannix. The young talents Ivan Tratter (wheelchair tennis), Nathalie Kofler (athletics), Greta Seiwald (mountain bike), Hannes Alber (downhill), Dominik Zuech, Yanick Gunsch (both ski cross) and Fabian Lantschner (snowboard) tried to put what they had learned into putting and were really successful Have fun with this new experience. Two additional special guests were there: the former president of the German Golf Association Joachim Nothelfer and the FISG official Marcello Cobelli. After all participants had completed their round of golf, the FORST aperitif and dinner together took place. On this occasion, all athletes were introduced and the sponsors and patrons were thanked for their help. There was also a raffle with lots of great prizes being given away. A big thank you goes out to them too. The proceeds go to the South Tyrolean Sports Aid. Golfing for young South Tyrolean sports The President of the Sporthilfe Giovanni Podini found words of gratitude for Horst Steinhauser, the President of the Petersberg Golf Club, for all the sponsors and top athletes present and for all the participating golfers for their great support. This charity event raised an amount of 14.000 euros. Young athletes get a taste of golf As part of the Forst Sporthilfe Golf Charity, the seven young talents and some sponsors had the opportunity to try out a sport that was new to them and swing the golf club. With Ben Mannix, an experienced golf PRO was there to give them advice. Nathalie Kofler, Yanick Gunsch, Ivan Tratter, Fabian Lantschner, Dominik Zuech, Hannes Alber and Greta Seiwald (from left) were able to immerse themselves in the world of golf at the event.
