Italy's World Cup delegation is looking forward to Stockholm: The fourth final game in the second highest Swedish league between the traditional clubs Djurgården and Brynäs will take place there on Tuesday at 19.30 p.m. If Brynäs wins this game, there is a very good chance that Damian Clara will strengthen the Blue Team at the World Cup. The 19-year-old has a 3-0 lead with Brynäs in the series, could secure direct promotion back to the Swedish upper house early and make it to Bolzano in time.
The club from Gävle celebrated a 6-3 away win on Sunday and earned three match pucks. Clara has been between the posts in every final game so far. His catch rate in the playoffs is outstanding at 92,9. Overall, he won nine out of ten games in the post season. With these statistics, the young South Tyrolean must be a contender for the title of most valuable player. In mid-March, the Pusterer had already won the price best youth player cleared away.
Regensburg's fairy tales
Further south, the Eisbären Regensburg are writing their own fairy tale in the DEL2. Bayern, led by Wolkensteiner Patrick Demetz, were only promoted to the second highest league in Germany in 2022. Now they are even scratching their itch to win the sensational DEL2 title. The Eisbären won 5-2 at the Kassel Huskies on Sunday and are now 3-2 ahead in the best-of-seven series. Defensive specialist Demetz has been used in the third line of attack in every final game so far. On Tuesday the polar bears can close the sack in front of the home fans. In contrast to Kassel, Regensburg is not fighting for promotion because the club does not have a DEL license.Edit Profile
