Varese postpones the title decision

Everything is still open in the final of the Italian Hockey League (IHL): Varese destroyed Pergine's first match puck on Tuesday and thereby kept the hopes of defending the title alive.

Home advantage continues to play a crucial role in the IHL final: apart from the first game in which Pergine prevailed in Varese, the team that played in its own four walls always won. If the Mastini want to win the title again, this law must be broken on Thursday when the sixth game of the series takes place in Trentino (20.30 p.m.). Marcello Borghi & Co. enforced this on Tuesday with a crystal-clear 4-0 win.

In front of 1105 fans, the Lombards were clearly the better team and fired almost twice as many shots. The 18-year-old Nathan Garau from Bolzano opened the scoring in the 9th minute. Borghi and Andrea Vanetti made things clear in the middle third. Pergine risked everything again in the final phase and pulled the goalie - but without getting the desired effect. Instead, Alex Bertin hit the empty goal.
