The Fanano money goes to Aosta

The Aosta Gladiators become Ares Sport: As the club announced on social media, financier Dany Bahar and his design company Ares Modena are taking over the sporting rights of the Gladiators. They had already played in IHL Division I with moderate success the previous year. In the new season everything should be better and bigger. What the club is planning is, on the one hand, revolutionary. On the other hand, the project is also viewed critically and its longevity is questioned. With the support of Manuel Tenca, who takes on the role of sports manager, the club wants to make the ice hockey game an event that is about much more than just winning or losing. “At every home game, Ares Sport offers the opportunity to attend a show that is not just of a sporting nature. The most important artists of the Italian music scene will perform,” the association proclaims. The events would be filmed by a professional team and “then edited so that this adventure can be told in a cinema format.” The aim is to create a system that supports young athletes. Eastman's first newcomer The Gladiators actually have good youth work, as they won the U17 championship last season. Nevertheless, there are doubts: 43-year-old Derek Eastman was signed as the first new signing on Friday evening. The American is based in Val Gardena and therefore always has a five-hour drive ahead of him. It is likely that other players will follow Eastman's example: Last year at Fanano, Bahar created a team of experienced players from all parts of the country - seven South Tyroleans were also there. Whether this will also be the case in Aosta remains to be seen. By the way, a big name takes care of the sporting fortunes: Brian Ihnacak. Last year, the Italian-Canadian laced up his skates for Fanano. Meanwhile, what is behind the breakup between Fanano and Bahar is uncertain. “The project was relocated to the city of Aosta because different visions made it impossible to continue the relationship,” writes Ares Sport. The Fanano Miners have not yet issued a statement. However, there are many indications that the separation was not peaceful.
